Turkey is now Visa free for American Citizens

Having a United States passport is beneficial in many ways, as it allows you access to over 180 countries in the world without needing a visa, and now American citizens can add Turkey to the list of countries they can explore without getting a visa.

The Turkish ministry of culture and tourism announced that American citizens can now visit the country without having to obtain the E-visas, which were available online for $51.50. This news wasn’t limited to just Americans, as Turkey also opened its doors to Canada, Bahrain, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. These six countries join 20 other countries whose citizens can now visit Turkey without obtaining a visa.

According to Turkey’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Istanbul welcomed more than 16 million foreign visitors in the first 11 months of 2023. In the month of November alone, tourists from the United States made up the fourth-most visitors to the city. This is a testament to the beauty present in the beautiful city of Istanbul, the nation’s capital.

While Turkey no longer requires visas from American citizens, the Brazilian Tourist Board recently announced that starting April 10, 2024, American citizens will now be required to get an e-visa to access Brazil. It will cost $80.90 and have a validity period of 10 years, the board announced.
