Be Prepared

Water is life, Oxygen is life, Money is life, Travel is life. These are all statements we have heard and valid arguments can be made for any of these to be the most important in life but we can all agree that all these are important to daily living. Everyone at one point in their lives crave to travel to one place or the other. In many cases, they don’t get to fulfill their travel desires, often times because they don’t PREPARE for anything. It is one thing to be ready but it is another thing to be prepared. We all get excited and want to travel and sometimes forget to actually prepare for the trip we are going for.

A lot of people have missed out on going to their dream destinations at the time they planned because of various reasons that could have been avoided and that is where the place of preparation comes in.

The first step to travel is to have your international passport. It seems simple and straightforward right? But yes, a lot of people say they want to travel and go to places and then are asked if they have an international passport and their answers are no thereby delaying their trips by a few months. Getting your international passport is the first step in being prepared for the trip you are intending on going for.

Then you need to know if you have to obtain a visa to be allowed entry into your chosen destination. You could research this on your own or ask with your program provider. They’ll know the requirements and you won’t be left stranded. Also you need to check if your vaccinations are up-to-date or if you need any specific vaccinations for your chosen destination? For example, some countries in Africa will only allow you to enter if you have you have a Yellow Fever vaccination. You can always visit a travel doctor with a comprehensive copy of your itinerary and they will discuss vaccinations, medications and risk management with you.

These are the first basic steps to travelling out of country if you are first time traveler. Follow these steps to not just be ready but be absolutely prepared for your upcoming trip.
